Punches
Punches — ophthalmic surgical instruments from OscarTech UK, manufactured to clinical standards.
About our Punches range
What's in this range
Corneoscleral and bone punches - Kelly membrane punch, Gass corneoscleral punch, Fukasaku micro trabeculectomy punch, and Kerrison and Citelli rongeurs, plus corneal trephine blades and handles, used in trabeculectomy, corneal transplant and dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) procedures.
About the patterns
The Kelly membrane punch and Gass corneoscleral punch remove a small piece of tissue to create a drainage opening. The Fukasaku micro trabeculectomy punch is a finer version for the same purpose in glaucoma surgery. Kerrison and Citelli rongeurs bite through bone, used in DCR and other bone-opening procedures - Kerrison is the finer-toothed pattern. Corneal trephine blades cut a precise circular disc of cornea for a graft, sized by diameter across a wide range.
Used with
Bone punches and rongeurs are used alongside lacrimal chisels and periosteal elevators during DCR; corneal trephines are used with corneal knives and dissectors and corneal transplant scissors for graft surgery.

What is a trabeculectomy punch used for?
It removes a small piece of tissue to create a drainage channel during a trabeculectomy, a glaucoma surgery that lowers eye pressure.
What is a corneal trephine used for?
It cuts a precise circular disc of cornea, sized to the diameter needed, for a corneal graft (keratoplasty).
What's the difference between a Kerrison and Citelli rongeur?
Both bite through bone; the Kerrison pattern has finer teeth, generally preferred for more delicate bone work.
