n-Butyl cyanoacrylate and 2-octyl cyanoacrylate tissue adhesive
PerfectSeal (also written Perfect Seal) is a tissue adhesive range in n-butyl cyanoacrylate, 2-octyl cyanoacrylate and blended formulations, for closing skin wounds without sutures.
PerfectSeal tissue adhesives
OscarTech UK supplies the PerfectSeal range of topical skin adhesives to NHS trusts, emergency departments, minor injury units, theatres and clinics. Tissue adhesives are applied to the skin surface to hold wound edges together, and every line is supplied in boxes of 5.
Three formulations
n-Butyl-2-cyanoacrylate (PAB codes): 0.35g to 2ml, in coloured, non-coloured and blue/transparent versions, including packs of 5 or 10 ampoules.
2-Octyl cyanoacrylate (PLO codes): 0.5ml to 1ml, in standard and high-viscosity versions, including dome-tip and applicator versions.
n-Butyl / 2-octyl blend (PLX codes): 0.25ml to 0.8g, including lines with a fine dispensing tip.
Coloured adhesive shows clearly where it has been applied. High-viscosity versions are thicker, so they run less on the skin.

What is the difference between n-butyl and 2-octyl cyanoacrylate?
They are the two main chemistries used in topical skin adhesives. The PerfectSeal range offers both, plus a blend of the two, so you can match the product your clinical teams already use. Always follow the instructions for use supplied with the product.
What does high viscosity mean?
High-viscosity versions are thicker, so the adhesive is less likely to run off the wound during application.
How is it packed?
Every line has a unit of issue of a box of 5. Some lines are multi-ampoule packs of 5 or 10 ampoules of 0.5ml.
