Corneal knives and dissectors including the Tooke corneal knife, Gill corneal knife, and DALK (deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty) dissectors, used in corneal graft and lamellar keratoplasty procedures.
About the patterns
The Tooke corneal knife has a straight blade with a curved cutting edge, used for corneal dissection. The Gill corneal knife has a curved cutting edge in straight or lightly-curved patterns. DALK dissectors (flat, triangular-shaft or standard) are semi-sharp instruments designed to separate corneal layers without cutting through to the innermost endothelium, the defining technique of deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty.

Corneal knives are typically used alongside scalpel handles and blade breakers and corneal scissors during corneal graft surgery.

What is a DALK dissector used for?
It's used in deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK), a corneal transplant technique, to separate corneal layers without removing the innermost endothelium.
What's the difference between the Tooke and Gill corneal knives?
Both have a curved cutting edge on a straight blade; they're similar in function and differ mainly by the surgeon's preferred pattern and handle shape.
