What's in this range
West and Feer lacrimal chisels, a reversible spud and gouge, a lead-filled mallet, and Joseph and Freer periosteal elevators, for lacrimal and orbital bone work such as dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR).
About the patterns
West and Feer lacrimal chisels cut through the thin bone of the lacrimal fossa during DCR; the Feer pattern is curved, the West pattern straight. A spud and gouge combines two functions on a reversible handle. The mallet is lead-filled for a controlled, heavy striking weight when used with a chisel. Joseph and Freer periosteal elevators lift and separate the periosteum (the membrane covering bone) - the Freer pattern has one blunt and one semi-sharp end for different stages of dissection.
