What's in this range
Buratto bimanual irrigation and aspiration handpieces, in straight and curved patterns, across a range of gauges and port sizes, used for bimanual phacoemulsification cataract surgery.
About the pattern
Buratto handpieces come as a separate irrigation piece and aspiration piece (rather than one combined instrument), each inserted through its own small incision - the defining feature of the bimanual technique. Port size and gauge vary to suit different incision sizes and flow requirements, from standard 21G ports down to smaller 23G micro-incision sizes.
Used with
Bimanual I/A handpieces are used alongside cataract-surgery cannulas and nucleus manipulators during phacoemulsification.

What is bimanual phacoemulsification?
A cataract surgery technique using two separate small incisions - one for irrigation, one for aspiration - instead of a single combined instrument.
What does the gauge number mean?
It refers to the outer diameter of the handpiece shaft - a higher gauge number means a smaller diameter, suited to smaller incisions.
