About the range
The European connector is a flat-pin plug used with European-standard bipolar cables. Straight forceps suit open and superficial surgery. Bayonet forceps are used in neurosurgery and ENT, with angled-up and angled-down tips to reach around structures. Several series are offered - standard, non-stick, ultra non-stick and a 610 series - across the same lengths and tip widths.
Suction and tungsten carbide
Suction bipolar forceps combine coagulation with aspiration through the instrument, clearing blood and smoke from the field. Tungsten carbide tips are harder wearing than plain stainless steel.
Can European forceps be used with a US cable?
No, the connector is different. Use a European bipolar cable with a flat-plug instrument end, matched to your generator.
What lengths are available?
Straight and bayonet forceps come in 15, 17.8, 20, 22 and 24 cm (bayonet from 14 or 16.5 cm), depending on the series.
What do angled-up and angled-down mean on bayonet forceps?
The working tips are bent up or down from the bayonet shaft, giving access around structures without moving the handle.
