Comen S8 Defibrillator Monitor
Comen portable monitor-defibrillator with manual defibrillation, AED mode, pacing and ECG monitoring, up to 360 J with 25 energy levels, for pre-hospital and in-hospital use.
The Comen S8 is a portable monitor-defibrillator that combines manual defibrillation, an AED mode, pacing and patient monitoring in one device. It is suitable for pre-hospital first aid and for use in hospital.
Key features
- Defibrillation: manual defibrillation with synchronous cardioversion and asynchronous defibrillation, up to 360 J with 25 energy levels. The energy can be set in under a second, and a shock takes three steps: select the energy, charge, discharge.
- Waveform: biphasic truncated exponential (BTE) with automatic compensation for patient impedance, across 20 to 250 Ω.
- Pacing: on-demand and fixed pacing modes.
- AED mode: automated rhythm analysis with guidance for the rescuer. One knob switches between manual defibrillation, pacing and AED mode.
- Paddles: one pair of paddles serves adults and children, with large and small electrodes.
- Monitoring: 5-lead ECG as standard. SpO₂, temperature, EtCO₂, invasive blood pressure and 12-lead ECG are available as options.
- Battery: a large-capacity lithium battery with fast charging, giving more than 420 maximum-energy discharges.
- Printing and records: 80 mm thermal printer, plus storage for events, trends and 240 minutes of AED voice recording (up to 60 minutes per patient).
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi and wired connection, with HL7 integration for hospital information systems.
- Reliability: shock and fall resistant, with IP44 ingress protection, and manual, automatic and power-on self-tests.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Comen S5 and S8?
Both are monitor-defibrillators with manual defibrillation, AED mode, pacing and monitoring, up to 360 J. The S5 is a compact 4-in-1 with a lithium battery rated for up to 210 maximum-energy discharges and IPX4 protection. The S8 is a portable unit with 25 energy levels, a battery rated for more than 420 maximum-energy discharges, IP44 protection, an 80 mm thermal printer and Wi-Fi, wired and HL7 connectivity.
Is a monitor-defibrillator the same as an AED?
No. An AED is designed for use by anyone, with voice prompts. A monitor-defibrillator is used by trained clinicians and adds manual defibrillation, pacing and patient monitoring. Both the S5 and the S8 also have an AED mode.
Can I get the full data sheet and a quote?
